Introduction

Idara is a company that facilitates the full incorporation and licensing of highly regulated businesses in Africa. This privacy policy will explain how our organization uses the personal data we collect from our customers and related partners when they use our web app or subscribe to any of our products and services. This Privacy Policy also explains how that information may be used and shared and the choices you have to limit or prevent certain uses or sharing of that information.

We value the privacy of your personal information and recognize that you have the right to protect and secure that data. Throughout this Privacy Policy, we use the term "personal information or data" to describe information that can be associated with a specific person and can be used to identify that person. We do not consider personal information to include information that has been made anonymous, such that it does not identify a specific user.

By using or accessing the Services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. We may update our Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our information practices. If we do this and the changes are material, we will post a notice that we have made changes to this Privacy Policy at Idara, and we will indicate the date these terms were last revised at the top of the Privacy Policy. Any revisions to this Privacy Policy will become effective at the end of those 7 days.

The Legality of Users to Access Services 

Our Services generally require users to be at least 18 years of age. Our services may allow users above the age of 18 (such as healthcare providers, parents, and guardians) to submit personal information on behalf of minors. Such users assume full responsibility for their submission, use, and transmission of such information.

A. Personal Information 

We collect personal information required for the particular Service selected on our Sites to (i) carry out the Services ordered by the User; (ii) fulfil the legal obligations and all anti-money laundering policies in the jurisdiction; (iii) communicate any updates and progress in the Services ordered on the platform. This information includes your name, address, age, ID documents (International Passport), phone number, email address, and other similar details.

B. Information You Provide Directly Through Our Services 

We, and service providers and partners working on our behalf, will collect any information that you choose to provide directly through our Services. For example, such information may be collected when you:

  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including for compliance with Know-Your-Customer, Know-Your-Business, Anti-Money Laundering, anti-corruption, fraud monitoring, sanctions screening, and risk assessment requirements, or as requested by any judicial process, law enforcement, or governmental agencies having or claiming jurisdiction over Idara or Idara’s affiliates;
  • Use data analytics to improve our website, products or Services, and user experience, and to optimize our Services.

If you register for and/or attend any Idara-sponsored events, we collect your registration and contact details to complete your registration. We may also collect your images, in video or still form, audio-visual recordings, or other forms of digital information gathered at such events by the media team and use them for promotion, publication, or marketing of the event as Idara may determine.

Mobile Applications 

To experience the full range of our mobile application’s seamless services including the ability to send funds to your phone contacts through the application (where applicable), we would require your consent to grant access to your contact list. You have the right to withdraw your consent allowing us access to your contact list at any time. Please note that where your consent is not given or withdrawn, we would require the email address or contact of the recipient, to facilitate the fund transfer through the application.

Employment 

If you apply for employment with Idara, we use your Personal Information to evaluate your interest in employment, for compliance checks, and to contact you regarding possible employment with Idara.

How We May Disclose Your Information 

We may disclose personal information to our partners, statutory authorities, or third parties as may be reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this Notice.

  • To fulfil the purpose for which you provide it, i.e. to carry out the Service you requested.
  • For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information.
  • We may also disclose your personal information:some text

  • If Idara becomes involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all of its assets, we may share your Personal Information with parties involved in the transaction and any entity that acquires our business will continue to process your Personal Information in line with this Privacy Notice, or a revised version that we will communicate to you.

Data Retention and Deletion 

We keep your personal information only as long as necessary to provide you with the Idara Services and for legitimate and essential business purposes, such as maintaining the performance of the Idara Services, making data-driven business decisions about new features and offerings, complying with our legal obligations, and resolving disputes. We keep some of your personal information for as long as you are a user of Idara Services.

If you request, we will delete or anonymize your personal information so that it no longer identifies you, unless we are legally allowed or required to maintain certain personal information, including situations such as the following:

  • If there is an unresolved issue relating to your accounts, such as an outstanding credit on your account or an unresolved claim or dispute, we will retain the necessary personal information until the issue is resolved;
  • Where we need to retain the personal information for our legal, tax, audit, and accounting obligations, we will keep the necessary personal information for the period required by applicable law; and/or,
  • Where necessary for our legitimate business interests such as fraud prevention or to maintain the security of our users.

No security system is impenetrable; however, we cannot guarantee the security of our databases or that the information you supply will never be intercepted, accessed, or disclosed in a manner that is inconsistent with this Privacy Policy. For instance, clicking or tapping on a sponsorship credit or some third-party logos on Idara Services will take you to an entirely different site or service that may collect, use, and share information in ways that Idara would not. You also may access Idara content and the Idara Services from a third-party site or service that may collect, use, and share information in ways that Idara would not. Idara is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these third-party services and we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the privacy policies of any such sites or services you visit or access.

Marketing 

We may process your Personal Information to contact you or send you marketing content and communication about our products, Services, or surveys where we have obtained your consent in the way and manner provided under the Data Protection Legislation. You may exercise your right to object to such contact from us or opt out of the marketing communication. Please note however that if you opt-out of marketing content, we may still send you messages relating to transactions and our Services, related to our ongoing business relationship. We may ask you for permission to send notifications to you. Our Services will still work if you do not grant us consent to send you notifications.

All changes made will be posted on this page and where changes will materially affect you, we will notify you of this change by placing a notice online, on your Idara dashboard, or by email.

Before users can receive messages, advertising, or promotions from Idara, such a user must have agreed to receive such messages. Any recipient may request at any time to be removed from our list, and we will comply with that request. In addition, we will thoroughly investigate any allegations made by recipients relating to unsolicited messages. We require that all emails promoting Idara or its products be sent only to users who have agreed to receive such messages. We prohibit any advertising of our brand and Website using unsolicited email messages.
